AskMusicPros connects musicians and creators with experienced music industry professionals who provide personalized feedback through written responses and recorded audio. Get expert guidance on your mixes, songs, career questions, and more.
How does it work?
1. Browse our experts and find someone who matches your needs
2. Choose between a text question or audio response
3. Submit your question (you can upload audio files too). We place a temporary authorization hold on your card. You are only charged if the expert delivers a response.
4. The expert replies with a personalized text or recorded voice message. If the expert does not deliver within 3 days, the hold is automatically released and the order is canceled. You are not charged.
5. Review the response in your dashboard anytime

How long until I get a response?
Experts have up to 3 days. If they don’t deliver within 3 days, the order cancels automatically and the hold on your card is released. You are not charged.
How will I receive my response?
Inside your dashboard. Text responses are written out. Audio responses are recorded messages you can play anytime. Everything stays there as long as your account is active.
Do I need a subscription?
No. No memberships. No monthly fees. You only pay when you ask a question and the expert delivers.
Can I upload my music?
Yes! Upload your mix, demo, track, whatever you want feedback on. The more context you give, the better the advice.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) through our secure payment processor Stripe. Your payment information is encrypted and never stored on our servers.
What's your refund policy?
Once an expert delivers their response, the purchase is final and non-refundable. If an expert doesn't respond within 3 days, the hold we place on your card will be lifted and you will not be charged.
Can I message the expert back and forth?
You get one main response per booking. If you want deeper back-and-forth, book another session.
What kind of questions should I ask?
Be specific. Instead of: “Thoughts?” Try: “What’s holding this chorus back?” “Is my vocal sitting right in the mix?” “Would you release this or keep developing it?” Clear questions get powerful answers.
What if I don’t like the response?
These are real working professionals, not random internet opinions. Make sure you're asking the right question. If you want deeper feedback, book again.

We don’t just let anyone in. Experts are vetted based on real experience, real credits, real work. If you’re getting advice here, it’s from someone who’s actually done the thing.

How do I become an expert on AskMusicPros?
Click "Become an Expert" on our homepage, fill out the application with your experience, credentials, and specialty areas. Our team reviews all applications. Once approved, you can set your rates and start accepting requests!
How much do I earn per response?
You keep 80% of each booking. AskMusicPros takes a 20% platform fee to cover payment processing, hosting, and platform maintenance. Average rates are between $35 to $50 for text and audio, but you can adjust your rates in your profile settings.
How long do I have to respond?
Once you accept a request, you have 3 days to deliver. We suggest 24 to 48 hours when possible. Faster replies build trust and better reviews. No delivery within 3 days means the order cancels automatically and the client is not charged.
Can I decline a booking request?
Yes, you can decline any request before accepting it. If you do not deliver within that timeframe, the order is automatically canceled and the authorization hold on the client’s card is released. The client is not charged, and repeated non-deliveries may impact your reputation on the platform.
When and how do I get paid?
Payouts are processed monthly via Stripe. You'll need to set up your payout information in your expert dashboard. After you deliver a response, the payment clears in 2 days and is then sent to your bank in the next daily payout. Your earnings are tracked in your dashboard immediately after completing each session.
Can I set my own availability?
Absolutely! You have a toggle in your dashboard to mark yourself as available or unavailable. When unavailable, your profile won't appear in browse results and users can't book you. Perfect for when you're on vacation or swamped with work.
What if I don't know the answer to a question?
You should decline the request before accepting it. Once accepted, you're expected to provide value. If a question is outside your expertise, be honest with the user and offer what guidance you can, or recommend they seek a specialist in that area.
How do reviews work?
After you deliver a response, users can leave a star rating (1-5) and written review. Your average rating and review count are displayed on your profile. Positive reviews help you attract more bookings!
